Vettel ganó el GP de Europa
El alemán Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) ganó este domingo en el circuito urbano de Valencia el Gran Premio de Europa de Fórmula 1, superando a los dos McLaren de Lewis Hamilton (segundo) y Jenson Button (tercero), mientras que el español Fernando Alonso se colocó noveno.
Vettel, que salía de la pole, se impuso sin dificultades y su victoria le permite colocarse en el tercer lugar de la clasificación de pilotos, que encabezan los británicos Lewis Hamilton, primero, y Jenson Button, segundo.
Su compañero Mark Webber, que salía segundo, tuvo un día negro que empezó con una salida catastrófica en la que perdió siete posiciones. Tras pasar por boxes para cambiar una rueda, Webber se encontró detrás del finlandés Heikki Kovalainen (Lotus-Cosworth) y al intentar adelantarle salió disparado.
El espectacular accidente hizo salir volando al monoplaza de Webber y milagrosamente ninguno de los dos pilotos salió lesionado. La carrera tuvo que ser interrumpida entre las vueltas 11 y 15.
La llegada del coche de seguridad provocó el segundo incidente del día, cuando Hamilton le adelantó, violando el reglamento, y fue luego sancionado, a pesar de que conserva, de momento, su segundo lugar.
El adelantamiento perjudicó sobre todo a Fernando Alonso, que luchaba con el británico. El español se quedó bloqueado detrás del coche de seguridad, lo que le dejó rezagado y terminó la carrera noveno.
Button, con el otro McLaren, ganó el tercer lugar tras una buena carrera, permitiendo a la escudería británica reforzar su liderato en el Mundial de constructores, donde sigue primera, seguida por Red Bull y Ferrari.
